The LY-225 chroma tester is manufactured under ASTM D1500 and SH/T 0168 for determining the color of lubricants, kerosene, diesel and other petroleum products, corresponding to GB/T 6540 color numbers. Light from a 220 V / 100 W frosted bulb (2750 ± 50 K) passes milky and sunlight-filter glass to simulate north light, then forms two identical parallel beams through standard color glass and the sample tube. The operator compares sample color (left half of eyepiece) with the 25-grade standard color wheel (right half).
