The TOPECH Timken oil friction tester (also called Timken machine or lubricity tester) evaluates lubricant anti-wear and extreme pressure performance using the Timken OK load method per ASTM D2782 and ASTM D2509. Under 220 V test conditions, ordinary oil locks the machine at 3-4 weights (OK value), while anti-wear oil allows more than 12 weights without lock-up — a dramatic, visual demonstration of lubricant quality. This portable block-on-ring tester is ideal for lubricant distributors, additive manufacturers and quality control labs. Standard packing includes the machine body, 12 weights, 2 iron oil cups, 2 oil stones, power cable, 30 steel balls, a spare abrasive wheel and a portable aluminum case.

The Timken OK load test (ASTM D2782 / ASTM D2509) measures the maximum load a lubricant can support before the oil film ruptures. A rotating ring presses against a fixed steel block under increasing weight. The highest load without scoring or lock-up is the OK value — higher OK values indicate superior anti-wear and extreme pressure performance.

The Timken method uses a rotating ring against a fixed block (line contact), while four ball testers use four steel balls in point contact.
